This conversation happened a few weeks ago, after the girls had been visiting the neighbor and eating his bounteous strawberries straight out of the patch. The experience left them literally beaming and bouncing with sheer joy. It really doesn’t take much to create a sense of awe and delight in children, especially if they can eat sweet things right out of the garden! Every child should have the opportunity to experience joy in God’s Creation - His beautiful, magical, delicious Creation.
"I wish…a was a little tiny bunny…and I lived in a strawberry patch…that was EVERLASTING!" Thus lisped my five-year-old breathlessly to her little friend; both were splattered with red juice on their faces, fingers and clothes, and both tried to up each other in hyperbole. "One THIS HUGE!" Anna-Grace said, stretching out her arms as far as she could. "As big as the whole HOUSE!" shouted her little friend, hopping up as high as she could.

AuthorWelcome to Growing Goodness! This website is dedicated to growing good things, both plants and children. It's a gardening blog with maternal overtones, as I discuss the goodness and value of plants, both wild and domestic. In the process I hope to help you pass a love of nature on to your children.
