Perhaps we'll get some more photos of Roman flowers and weeds! I just thought you would enjoy these.
You recall from last week that my oldest daughter is spending the semester in Rome, having a fabulous time already. She will be blogging about it, and I will put her blog in my favorites, so you can read it, too. But she hasn't forgotten her Mommy back home and sent me pictures of Roman weeds! Summer Purslane just grows everywhere! Here it is growing on the famous and picturesque Spanish Steps in the heart of the Eternal City. Don't know if anyone will harvest if for salad, though. And I thought MY wisteria was a monster! It's not only growing straight up this four story building, it is also growing off to the right, out of the range of the photo. Maria said she has even seen bigger plants. Can you imagine it when it's in bloom? The scent!

It's a gardening blog with maternal overtones, as I discuss the goodness and value of plants, both wild and domestic. In the process I hope to help you pass a love of nature on to your children.
