"Mommy, can you tie these tight for me?"
Feeling a little exasperated, I respond testily, "Anna-Grace! I am working! There are three people in the house who can tie your shoes for you! Ask Daddy or Maria or Christina!" (Moms, do you ever feel like you have to do everything?)
"But you do it best," she answers meekly.
Groan. Now I feel small. Who knew I was an expert sneaker-tier?
"Do you have socks in those shoes?"
She closes one eye and peaks in. "Nope, no socks in there."
"Go get socks."
"And then you’ll tie them for me?" she asks hopefully.
How can I resist? "I’ll tie them for you." Children are such a blessing. They make you feel like a hero, even after you’ve acted like a heel.
